A young black girl runs away in search of her radical brother with the hope to reunite him with their ailing father. Her city is ruled by a vengeful king. Schools are segregated, members of the LGBTQ community are only allowed in shelters underground, women are punished for purchasing birth control and uttering the word ‘abortion’. In a nation where healing seems impossible, a girl sets out to prove the world wrong.
